Bay-area Environmentally Aware Consulting Network (BEACN)
Purpose:
Our mission is to educate students and businesses about the environmental and economic benefits of more environmentally sustainable business practices. We provide students with the opportunity to implement sustainable practices in a real world environment and provide businesses with quality consulting that encompasses up to date environmental knowledge.

Berkeley Energy Alliance for Renewables (BEAR)

Berkeley Energy Alliance for Renewables (BEAR)
Purpose:
To collect waste vegetable oil from campus dining halls and process it into biodiesel in order to reduce or eliminate the use of petroleum diesel on campus, such as in the Refuse and Recycling fleet. The project will serve practical, educational and environmental purposes, and demonstrate the use of a renewable energy source.

Campus Recycling and Refuse Services

Campus Recycling and Refuse Services
Purpose:
Campus Recycling and Refuse Services (CRRS) is the campus unit that handles all of the refuse and most of the recycling collection at UC Berkeley. We coordinate the recycling efforts for mixed paper, beverage containers, greenwaste and wood, toner cartridges, and mixed metal. We can also provide general information on waste prevention, reuse of materials, purchasing recycled-content products, and recycling other materials that we do not coordinate.

Purpose:
The purpose of the CACS is to promote environmental management and sustainable development at UC Berkeley. The Committee is charged with advising the Chancellor on matters pertaining to the environment and sustainability as it directly relates to the University of California, Berkeley.

4th Tuesday of each month, 3:30-5pm

Re-Use

Purpose:
To promote the concept and ethic of reuse to the campus population and to divert reusable materials from landfills. Re-Use collects unwanted but reusable materials and redistributes them back to the campus community.
