Carlet received her B.A. in political science with a focus on Latin America from UCLA and has worked mainly in the nonprofit and education sectors. Originally from Tijuana, BC Mexico, she is fluent in Spanish and Italian. She began working for the Berkeley Institute of the Environment in August 2008 after working for the Center on Pacific Economies and the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies at UC San Diego for over 4 years.
