This year's Green Fund and Sustainability Awards to honor "green practices" will be announced at the Summit. Refreshments will be served at 8:30. The program begins at 9:00 AM. The Summit presentations will conclude at 11:00 and be followed by the poster session. At 11:30, the Sustainability Tours will depart, giving attendees the opportunity to experience first hand various aspects of sustainability at Cal. By several accounts, the world's fisheries are collapsing. However, demand for fisheries products continues to grow, making the future status of fisheries and the ecosystems, industries and communities that depend on them, uncertain. Several Bay Area companies, investors and non-governmental actors are leading a global effort to reform the sector towards sustainability. But what is 'sustainable' seafood? How does it get into the market place and how can we recognize it when we see it? Can the sustainable seafood movement reach the largest corporate actors?
