California Green-Collar Jobs Campaign Internship/Externship
The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights (www.ellabakercenter.org) is seeking a highly motivated intern/extern to work on exciting and cutting-edge statewide policy work on green-collar jobs and green economic development. The Green-Collar Jobs Campaign at the Ella Baker Center is nationally renowned for its advocacy of green-collar jobs and "green pathways out of poverty" in the Bay Area and California. We are sponsoring important green jobs legislation this year, and have strong relationships with key legislators in the California State Assembly and Senate, including Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez and incoming Senate President ProTem Darrell Steinberg. We believe there are big opportunities for California to set the standard for other states to follow. How can California lead with clean-tech economic growth that creates thousands of quality, green-collar jobs? How can we create a world-class workforce to take on the global challenges of the climate crisis and other ecological crises, while simultaneously providing economic upliftment for the people of California?
