Organization:
Rising Sun Energy Center (RSEC), a 501 (c)(3) corporation, provides comprehensive energy-efficiency services and education for Bay Area residents through our California Youth Energy Services program. We provide our services through innovative community service programs integrating youth training and employment, on-site residential energy efficiency visits, and other local programs and services. Since 2000, RSEC has served over 8,000 homes, saving residents over $3,000,000 annually in utility costs and providing training and programs for over 300 youth ages 15-22 years old.

Job Summary:
Position: Two Co- Site Managers will work together to run a CYES Summer site and manage 7-15 youth employees. CYES programs will be held in a variety of Bay Area cities, including Alameda, Contra Costa, and Marin Counties.
We are looking for individuals with extensive experience working with youth ages 15-24 years of age from diverse ages and backgrounds. The Site Manager positions will run approximately eight and a half weeks from early- June to mid-August the duration of the summer program. This is a full-time Temporary- seasonal EXEMPT position. The salary ranges between $5,000 - $6,000 based on eight and a half weeks of work, and will be paid on a bi-weekly basis. Benefits are not included. This is a short-term temporary position, with possibility of renewable. This position begins on June 16, 2008 and ends on August 15, 2008. Due to the nature of our program we are unable to provide vacation through the duration of the program.

Responsibilities:
The Site Manager is responsible for the overall administration of all aspects of the CYES program at a satellite office site, the management and supervision of all youth at their site, and ensuring that all program deliverables are met.

Youth Energy Specialists Supervision, Training, and Management:

• Responsible for training 10-12 youth Energy Specialists, facilitating group meetings, delegating and managing youth daily tasks and appointments, and conflict mediation.
• Tracking student hours and coordinating youth staff evaluations and individual site program evaluations.
• Entering data collected in the field by youth Energy Specialists into the scheduler or regulating and monitoring data entered by youth.
• Identifying and screening potential clients and scheduling appointments for youth Energy Specialists.
• Overseeing materials distribution and inventory, handle distribution and collection of tools by youth for retrofits.
• Performing ride-along with youth to ensure quality performance and continue on the job training and development of youth Energy Specialists.

Program Management:

• Creating and maintaining marketing and outreach reports, properly tracking and reporting installation numbers, successfully implementing inventory tracking system, reconciling and providing quality control over all data collected and entered.

Outreach:

• Soliciting potential clients, making phone calls, and attending community events to general client leads.
• Responsible for securing and scheduling appointments throughout program.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to lead employment/development programs with teenage youth.
• Your own car with valid driver’s license and insurance and ability to travel 20% -30% of time within Alameda, Contra Costa, and/or Marin Counties.
• Demonstrated interest in environmental education, activism, or community service.
• Strong project management skills: ability to multi-task, work under pressure, solve problems, delegate tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a hectic environment.
• Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, I.E., fast typing. Ability to quickly learn and use a new database software system.
• Ability to lead teams and work as a team player.
• Preferred but not required: CPR and First Aid certified.
• Preferred by not required: bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, or Tagalog
