Climate Campaign Internship with Environmental Entrepreneurs
Summary: Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) is a national community of business people
who believe in protecting the environment while building economic prosperity.
Working with NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), E2 serves as a champion on
the economic side of good environmental policy by taking a reasoned, economically
sound approach to environmental issues. E2 works at both the state and national

Environmental Entrepreneurs is looking for a summer 2008 research assistant for our
Climate Campaign in our San Francisco office. The Campaign is focused on building
business support for the effective implementation of California's Global Warming
Solutions Act of 2006. This position lasts until the end of the summer and is
available immediately. There is a chance that the position could extend into fall
2008.
Project Description: E2C2 is working on a campaign to implement AB 32, California's
Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. The paid intern will be responsible for
working with the E2 co-founder on the details of a proposed California Carbon Trust,
as recommended by the AB 32 Economic and Technology Advancement Advisory Committee
(see the ETAAC Final Report). The primary focus will be on finding and investigating
Greenhouse Gas emission reduction projects outside of capped sectors that might be
suitable for the Carbon Trust. This full-time position offers flex hours and
telecommuting for a three month period.
Qualifications: We are seeking individuals (graduate students or people in a career
transition) who care about global warming and want to influence environmental and
economic policy. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are
necessary. Must be able to work independently. This position will require attention
to detail and the ability to manage several tasks at once. Knowledge of climate
change and energy issues required.
Compensation: This is a paid internship, with a stipend paid for full-time work.
We may also be able to offer course credit if your program supports this kind of
internship. Interns will additionally have opportunities for interaction with other
parts of the organization including networking opportunities inside and outside of
NRDC.
