Job Description: Sr. Mgr / Director of Manufacturing
Bloom Energy, a fuel cell company and one of Silicon Valley's most promising
startups, is looking for Director of Manufacturing to join its world class team.
This individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding
future in one of today's most exciting technologies.
Role and Responsibilities: Reporting into the VP of Operations, the Director of
Manufacturing will be responsible for creating and managing all aspects of Ion's
system manufacturing process.
Responsibilities will include:
§ Building and leading the system manufacturing organization.
§ Establishing and managing both internal and eventually outsourced manufacturing
capabilities.
§ Implementing manufacturing and test processes, including development and control
of tools, fixtures and gages.
§ Establishing, measuring and achieving continuously improving quality, delivery and
cost objectives.
§ Supplier evaluation, selection, qualification and management.
§ Setting policies, procedures and standards.
Professional Background and Experience:
§ Experience in well-run, well-respected companies that built or fundamentally
changed an industry in some meaningful way.
§ 10+ years experience overseeing high volume manufacturing.
§ A bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement.
§ Strong background in manufacturing processes and volume production.
§ Experience with MRP/ERP systems is a requirement, Oracle experience preferred
§ Experience with high temperature physics, gas separation and purification, and
ceramics a plus.
§ Experience manufacturing new products and designing the tools necessary to build
those products.
