Senior Structural Engineer for Ausra
Ausra, Inc. is developing large-scale solar thermal power plants that will provide
electricity at market-competitive prices without carbon emissions. Our business plan
includes the installation of 1-2 GW per year of our unique Compact Linear Fresnel
Reflector CLFR) solar thermal electric technology. If you like a fast-paced,

Responsibilities:
* Analyze all key power plant and solar field structures to drive down cost,
improve performance and deliver safety and longevity
* Drive an end-to-end view of engineering design: spanning research and
development, procurement, engineering, manufacturing and field construction
* Execute testing programs to verify designs and assess risks
* Work independently to analyze complex issues
* Represent Ausra in technical due diligence processes with potential
customers and partners
* Mentor other engineers
Qualifications:
* Masters or PhD in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Professional Engineer certification in California is a big plus
* Experience in designing to meet seismic and wind code requirements
* Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, in cross-disciplinary
efforts, and through multiple departments to achieve goals and objectives
* Excellent analytical and experimental measurement skills
* Power industry experience is a plus
* Experience running structural FEA such as ANSYS or equivalent is a plus
* Familiarity with SolidWorks a plus
