The BIE Rangelands Roundtable will be holding their second roundtable of the spring series:
Carbon and Energy Flux in Blue Oak Savannas in California with Professor D. Baldocchi of ESPM.

This event will be held on March 20, 11am-1pm in 112 Hilgard Hall on the UC Berkeley campus. Space is limited, so please RSVP to Kayje Booker at kayje@nature.berkeley.edu to confirm your attendance. Lunch will be provided.

*About the Speaker*

This lecture and discussion will be led by Dr. Dennis Baldocchi, Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. He will be discussing his work on monitoring carbon flux in California oak woodlands.

*About the Roundtable*
The mission of this roundtable is to further knowledge of the potential of rangeland systems to produce biodiversity, carbon sequestration, biofuels, and other goods and services conjointly. In addition, we seek to develop new, cross-disciplinary research founded in that knowledge and the relationships developed as a result of the roundtable.

Starting with a core interdisciplinary group of Berkeley faculty with a long-standing interest in rangelands, this roundtable is developing a series of lectures and discussions for Spring, 2009 on both the state of knowledge and the research possibilities in examining rangeland production systems from multiple disciplines. The roundtable seeks to involve multiple perspectives from faculty, local practitioners, cooperative extension field advisors, and graduate students with interest in and knowledge of rangelands.
