Associate-Project Development Group:

Description:

OptiSolar's Project Development Group is seeking an Associate to support project
development activities, including:

* Supporting PV project site identification, land acquisition, real estate development & environmental permitting, pre-construction design and other development activities;
* Supporting project-specific marketing and public outreach activities
* Conducting research into topics including domestic and international markets for PV, policy support mechanisms for solar PV, biological and land use issues and other topics.

Qualifications and Requirements:

* Minimum 4 years work experience OR combined work experience and graduate studies.
* Excellent writing, Excel, PowerPoint and project scheduling skills.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director of Origination will lead 3Degrees' origination of verified emission
reductions and renewable energy certificates across a broad portfolio of climate
mitigation technologies. This candidate will be responsible for identifying,
evaluating, negotiating with, contracting for, and financing high-quality VER and
REC projects in the United States and around the globe.

The primarily responsibilities include:

- Leading 3Degrees Origination Team
- Setting origination strategy
- Developing and managing pipeline of renewable energy and emissions reduction projects
- Project diligence

- Identifying investment opportunities
- Securing project finance
- Provision of verification, registration, and other associated services

Skills and Experience:

- 5-10 years experience in project finance, project development, energy and commodity markets-ideally, carbon and renewable energy markets-or structured transaction brokerage
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable markets, including market participants, regulatory standards, transactions, and associated environmental commodities
- Demonstrated background in structured transactions and contract negotiations within the energy field
- Strong organizational, market development, leadership, due diligence, negotiation and contracting skills

Responsibilities will include developing greenhouse gas emissions inventories for
corporations and governments, identifying prospective opportunities for achieving
emissions reductions, quantifying emissions reductions achievable through
implementing specific emissions mitigation projects, and designing carbon emissions
management plans and strategies.

Staff Engineer, Carbon Practice:

Attractive candidates have a BS degree and 6 - 8 years of professional practice or
an MS degree and 5 - 7 years of professional practice. Preferred disciplines are
the same as for the Associate Engineer position. Specific carbon management
experience is required.

Responsibilities will include those described for the Associate Engineer position,
plus a limited project management role.

Roles and Responsibilities include:
Environmental and Energy Policy Committee support: Staff monthly meetings and
working groups, including meeting planning, logistics, and procuring guest speakers.
Be responsive to Committee member concerns and assist in member outreach and
engagement. Track our internal decision-making process and follow up on action
items.

Legislative and Regulatory Issues: For select priority areas, monitor and report on
key issues, milestones, and collect input. Write issue briefs for member
consideration, using internet-based research, policy reports, and contacting
experts. Prepare materials and talking points for use in advocacy. Policy areas
include competitive energy markets, energy efficiency and renewable energy,
chemicals and waste materials, water reliability, and climate change.

Projects and programs: Management of multi-million dollar energy efficiency program,
including contractor and client relationships, program marketing and reporting,
invoicing, and program strategy. Support multiple on-going projects by promoting
participation, communicating progress, and adapting strategy. Projects include our
Clean & Green Energy Action Plan, as well as partnerships with other organizations
such as Sustainable Silicon Valley.

Events: Support and occasionally spearhead event planning efforts, including
coordination with partners, logistics, speaker management, marketing, and promotion.
Past events include annual Energy Summit and workshops on water efficiency, climate
change policy, solar power, demand response, and carbon offsets.
